Harris County Tax Office | Temp-to-Hire | Full-Time

Openwork is proud to assist the Harris County Tax Office in hiring Bilingual Window Tellers to support their high-volume public service operations.

Are you fluent in both Spanish and English? Openwork is hiring Bilingual Window Tellers to support the Harris County Tax Office—a high-volume, fast-paced government office serving one of the most diverse communities in Texas.
In this front-line role, you’ll assist residents with critical services such as vehicle registrations, property tax payments, and title transfers. You’ll be a trusted, bilingual resource for Spanish-speaking residents who depend on clear communication and professional support.

Responsibilities :

• Welcome and assist walk-in customers.

• Process vehicle registrations, title transfers, permits, and property tax payments

• Accurately handle payments via cash, check, credit/debit card, and e-check

• Translate instructions and ensure clarity in documentation and procedures

• Balance your cash drawer and complete daily reports

• Maintain accuracy, professionalism, and confidentiality

• Support other branch operations and assist in high-volume settings

• Travel to nearby branches as needed for training or coverage

What We’re Looking For:

• Bilingual in Spanish and English (required )

• Minimum of six (6) months of recent face-to-face customer service experience, including cash handling, in a retail, banking, or related operational environment.

• High school diploma or GED equivalent from an accredited institution within the U.S.

• Typing speed of at least 30 words per minute

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy

• Professional demeanor, punctuality, and a commitment to public service

Position Details:

• Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
  (Must be available for occasional Saturdays and open to traveling to other branches for training or operational support )

• Pay: $15/hour, paid weekly

• Type: Temp-to-Hire with the potential for permanent placement

• Benefits: Medical, dental, and vision insurance available

• Location: Multiple locations across Harris County
