Job Description
MUSC Children’s After Hours and Specialty Clinics are located at Summey Medical Pavilion in North Charleston. We are a pediatric outpatient clinic that falls under the Shawn Jenkin’s Children’s Hospital at MUSC. During the day, we host a variety of pediatric subspecialists such as pediatric orthopedics, cardiology, and pulmonary, only to name a few. In addition to that, we provide a walk-in After Hours Care, which is a direct extension of our pediatric emergency department to serve our community during the hours when most pediatricians are closed.
• Our specialty clinics operate M-F 8 am – 430 pm
• Our After Hours care operates M-F 3 pm – 10 pm, 12 pm – 7 pm on weekends and holidays
CMA Minimum Training and Education:

Completion of an accredited medical assisting program with one year of patient care experience preferred.
CMA Required Licensure and/or Certifications (One Required):
American Medical Technologist (AMT)
American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA)
National Health career Association (NHA)
MedCA as a Certified Clinical & Administrative Medical Assistant (MA1)
National Association for Health Professionals (NAHP),
National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT).
Additional Requirements:
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) required, either a certification from an American Heart Association (AHA) BLS for Healthcare Providers (or AHA recognized equivalent) or an American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider."
