We are seeking a Estimator to join our dynamic team in the Construction industry. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in developing cost estimates for our diverse portfolio of construction projects, which includes heavy highways, excavation, and dirt work. This is a fantastic opportunity for a driven professional with a solid background in construction estimating and a proven track record of delivering accurate and timely estimates.

This is an onsite position in Sioux Falls, SD and we are willing to pay for relocation expenses.

Job Details

Responsibilities

The Estimator will be responsible for a wide range of duties, including but not limited to:

1. Preparing detailed cost estimates for construction projects, including materials, labor, equipment, and other project-related costs.
2. Utilizing HCSS to develop, maintain, and manage cost databases and templates.
3. Analyzing blueprints, specifications, proposals, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, and labor estimates.
4. Conducting site visits and investigations to gain a comprehensive understanding of the project's scope and requirements.
5. Collaborating closely with project managers, engineers, architects, contractors, and other project stakeholders to ensure accurate and competitive cost estimates.
6. Providing technical advice and resolving complex construction estimating problems.
7. Reviewing design changes and project updates for impact on time and cost estimates.
8. Monitoring industry trends, advancements, and best practices related to construction estimating.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate for the Permanent Copy of Estimator position should possess the following qualifications:

1. Experience working on dirt work and heavy highway projects.
2. Proficiency in HCSS or equivalent estimating software.
3. In-depth knowledge of construction materials, equipment, techniques, and processes.
4. Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex plans, specifications, and contract documents.
5. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with diverse project teams.
6. High attention to detail, with a proven ability to produce accurate and comprehensive cost estimates.
7. Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
8. Professional certifications in construction estimating or project management will be an added advantage.
