Position Summary:

The Platform Engineer will provide technical leadership and hands‑on engineering support for the Socium platform—a mission‑critical, cloud‑based DoD enterprise system. This senior role focuses on engineering and sustaining the platform infrastructure, ensuring secure, reliable, and scalable operations across NIPRNet and SIPRNet environments in alignment with DevSecOps principles.

  • Infrastructure Design & Deployment: Architect and implement Socium’s hosting environments to meet DoD IL4 security requirements. Build and maintain automated deployment pipelines using CI/CD tools. Configure containerized environments for application delivery.
  • System Sustainment & Optimization: Monitor platform performance and apply predictive maintenance techniques. Execute system rehosting, integration, and environment migrations without service disruption. Maintain operational availability and meet SLAs for critical systems.
  • Security & Compliance: Apply STIGs, patch management, and vulnerability remediation to maintain RMF compliance. Support ATO processes and generate required cybersecurity artifacts. Implement Zero Trust and Comply-to-Connect capabilities as mandated by DoD.
  • Agile & DevSecOps Integration: Collaborate with developers, product owners, and cybersecurity teams during sprints. Participate in backlog refinement, sprint planning, and technical reviews. Continuously improve delivery pipelines and adopt automation for secure deployments.

Qualifications:

  • Eight (8) or more years of experience in software engineering.
  • Eight (8) or more years of experience developing and executing project plans, creating technical specifications, maintaining the operation and sustainment of systems, designing and developing test cases, adopting Agile methodologies to develop software, analyzing existing systems to provide recommendations for improvement, monitoring system performance and performing predictive maintenance, performing system risk and reliability analysis with a strong DevSecOps focus.
  • Eight (8) or more years of experience building and deploying infrastructure with cloud deployment technologies.
  • Eight (8) or more years of experience with Scrum or Agile development methodologies.

Location:

Arlington, VA (remote as permitted)

Travel Requirements:

Occasional domestic and international travel may be required for short‑term technical assistance assignments.
