You will be making a difference in the lives of individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities in this exciting opportunity in the Day Program. The Scheduler will play a crucial role in ensuring proper staff coverage, ratio compliance, enhancing engagement and ensuring operational efficiency.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE SCHEDULER:

  • Develop and maintain daily and weekly schedules for program participants and staff, ensuring adequate coverage for all activities.
  • Coordinate transportation schedules for pick-up and drop-off of individuals, including:
  • Assigning agency vehicles for daily use.
  • Ensuring mileage logs are completed and submitted monthly to finance.
  • Maintain accurate bus run manifests.
  • Main point of contact for Carroll Transit System (CTS).
  • Main point of contact for families and staff regarding transportation updates and schedule changes.
  • Ensure staffing meets state-mandated ratios based on individual needs and support levels.
  • Monitor changes in staff availability and participant attendance; make real-time adjustments as necessary.
  • Collaborate with Program Managers, Direct Support Professionals (DSPs), Case Managers, and other staff to align schedules with individual service plans (ISPs) and goals.
  • Assist with scheduling training, appointments, and off-site activities for program participants.
  • Maintain accurate documentation related to attendance, staffing, staff training compliance and schedules.
  • Communicate schedule updates and changes promptly and clearly to all team members.
  • Provide coverage or assist on the floor during staffing shortages, if required.
  • Participate in meetings and planning sessions to support overall program effectiveness.
  • Schedule nursing 45-day visits, and coordinate nursing care plan training for staff.
  • Other duties as assigned.

COMPENSATION AND HOURS

  • Pay Range: $20-$24/per hour
  • 7:30AM - 3:30 PM

Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • One year of experience working as a DSP with people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, preferred.
  • Strong administrative skills including proficiency with email systems, Excel, and Word and the ability to learn and teach new computer program quickly and efficiently.
  • Completion of CPR, First Aid, CMT and other Developmental Disabilities Administration and Arc required training within 90 days.
  • Excellent communication and persuasion skills.
  • Valid driver's license with no more than 2 current points on record.
  • Clean drug screen and criminal record (The Arc provides programs, services, and direct care to vulnerable adults).

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to lift/manipulate at least 50 pounds frequently with ability to lift, carry and/or exert force in excess of 100 pounds of force occasionally.
  • Ability to withstand prolonged periods of standing and frequent bending, stooping, reaching, pulling, and pushing required: Including lifting a wheelchair and repositioning an individual.
  • Ability to transfer individual from a chair to vehicle, bed to chair. Ability to position individual on a sling or Hoyer lift Ability to physically secure individual in a wheelchair to the van with tic-downs.
